Shearling Boots - pricing and ordering

These are the absolute top of the line shearling boots made in New Zealand with pride, from the highest quality shearling shearling. They have a cowhide double stitched reinforced heel and toe for extra durability.

They stand at about 10 inches high - up to mid calf. Our high-top boots stand about 5 inches higher and come up to just under your knees (depending on the size). Available in Sand or Chestnut colours.

The tops of the shearling boots can be rolled over to expose the shearling lining and create a different look.

Shearling is basically another name for sheepskin. This is when the pelts of a freshly shorn lamb are used. All of our boots are made with lambskin with the fleece still attached to the leather as in a normal sheepskin.

Because the New Zealand dollar is so low compared to the USA dollar we are able to offer the best at a very reasonable price. And the price includes airmail insured post (overseas) direct to your door!

Sheepskin Boots - Important Notes on Quality

Sheepskin boots come in a range of qualities, especially in New Zealand and Australia (and beware of Chinese made boots, you won't be happy). Because of the growth in sales of sheepskin boots world wide, there are many cheaper copy cat boots now available using second grade sheepskin, inferior and dangerous Polyurethane plastic soles, and cost cutting shortcuts in materials and workmanship.

Polyurethane soles - used by those making cheap imitations of our boots, are dangerous when wet as they are so slippery, they are a shiny plastic that looks cheap and will crack and break. Our sheepskin boots have pure rubber soles and have the very best traction available and will last for many years. Our boots are the originals.

Chinese made boots are poor quality and you will not be happy with them. There is very little quality control in workmanship or materials- and you will need to replace them before a single season. The sheepskins used in China are second grade as they have to buy them from New Zealand or Australia anyway, and they never pay for the best.

Please be assured of our expertise and highest quality. We use real materials. First grade sheepskins and pure rubber soles, for your maximum comfort. Our boots are made by Canterbury Leather company of New Zealand, the original maker of ugg boots for over 30 years.

See below the 6 layer comfort system built into all of our boots. The heel is also reinforced so it will stay upright and straight unlike cheaper models. Ask for a pure rubber sole which is the best non-slip sole available (and the most comfortable being springy and flexible).

Shearling boots construction

We supply the only shearling boot with pure rubber soles for positive traction on snow and ice and "floating on the clouds" comfort.

The rubber sole is lightweight yet provides traction in wet, snow and slippery conditions. A heat refelctive film is inserted above the sole to retain heat.

Each shearling boot has a removable insole made with a rubber molded bootbed and lambskin. These can be removed to dry or replaced easily.

The soft wool fibres of natural shearling act as a natural insulator to keep your feet warm and comfortable. Shearling is breathable, wicking moisture away to keep your feet dry and cosy.

These boots are an easy fit because the fleece forms around your feet. If you are in doubt about your size just tell us in the comments box at the end of the order form.

Waterproofing

shearling boots are naturally water resistant. They are made in New Zealand where we get a lot of rainfall and understand about getting wet. In most cases you will not need more protection from the wet. If you want more protection, it is very simple - use a readily available silicon spray such as Scotch Guard.

You can wear your shearling boots with or without socks. Please wear wool socks though, like our Milford Merino Wool Socks. Woolen socks will not effect the breathability.

Washing your shearling boots

To wash your shearling boots, use a mild soap and a brush or cloth. Rinse them off and keep them inside away from the heat while they dry. Give them a good hard brushing when they're dry to bring back the natural suede finish.

For cleaning marks and spots off boots, jackets and our other slippers, we provide a Suede Eraser. The Suede Eraser is ideal for non-oily stains, dirt, water marks, and even pen marks. These are inexpensive and cost only a few dollars and can be used for all non-pigmented suede and nubuck leathers. We also supply a sheepskin shampoo and and sheepskin waterproofing spray.

Shearling boots sizing

All shearling boots will feel snug and almost too tight to start with. Width is never a problem as they will eventually stretch out. The length will not stretch, so if your toe touches the end hard, you will have to return them. Our boots are a natural and breathable leather product that will stretch over a couple of days. If you know your shoe size and tell us, there should be no problem fitting your shearling boots. If in doubt - the Euro sizes are the most accurate - all sports shoes have Euro sizes.

Boots are in Unisex men's sizing in full sizes only. If you are a half size, best to order the smaller sizes, especially for women. So if you are a size 7 1/2 then best order the size 7. Men with extra wide feet best go up a half size.

There is a size chart inside the shop for you to look at.

If your boots loosen up, don't worry, you can add another insole to tighten them up.

When ordering make sure you are in the correct shop, we have five shops listed above. New Zealand, Australia and UK have the same shoe sizes. USA sizes are different. If you are from the USA look up to the top of your screen and make sure you are in the USA shop where all prices are in US dollars and postage is included in the price. Europe sizes are likewise in the Euro shop.

We send direct from New Zealand where all the best shearling boots come from. There are no middlemen - the factory makes them for us right here to our specifications, and we send them direct to you via Airmail insured post from New Zealand, the same day we receive your order - it usually takes about one week.

. My husband thought he was buying me another pair of Ugg boots. What a surprise I got when I opened them. They are a piece of junk purchase from company in WA. in the USA. called REI sporting.

He had purchased a pair just like them for himself from Cosco a large discount store here in the US. They are EXACTLY the same except mine have the Ugg stiching and logo.

Needless to say I shall save up again and now I at least know where to shop for a REAL pair of your wonderful UGG boots. Maybe you could change the name to the original UGG and do an ad that shows the difference so we uninformed buyers can beware.

I shall be sure to tell anyone I come in contact with to beware of these expensive cheaply made fakes like I have. I may just save them to show them the difference in a quality boot and one made in China.
